Homewood Suites by Hilton Long Beach Airport

Manager woman is absolutely frustrating and unhelpful. Facility is maintained pretty badly. Bathroom is missing shower curtain, refrigerator has rusts on shelves, kitchen utensils are thrown messy inside kitchen cabinet, there is no net over kitchen sink though there is a food grinder built-in making it dangerous. My family brought these issues cordially so we enjoy values promised by Homewood Suites by Hilton at price we paid for. During three encounters with her, bringing these issues to her attention, she makes up excuses as to why facility didnt get these issues right. In the end, she didn't even fulfill some of the promise she made to fix them. Visitors really shouldnt be bothered with comments like facility being bought up by Hilton and their requirements differ from what facility has, staffs who can do this is not available right now, there is no room available now that has bathtub, she kept going on and on for each issues while denying every request I make. She just kept on proving how bismally failing she is at customer service and managing. Every conversation with her made me feel like my family are unwelcomed. In stark contrast, other staffs who are there when manager was off were very kind and attentive. My expectation about Homewood Suites have drastically lowered after this visit, and I would not consider staying at all.

If you have a dog who is high maintenance like mine and doesn’t go potty on turf and requires grass, then don’t stay here. There were two potty areas for dogs that were like 8’x8’ section of artificial grass. Unfortunately, I had called in advance to ensure it was real grass and was told it was, but realized it wasn’t when we arrived so we had to drive a mile to a nearby park a few times a day which was such an inconvenience. We stayed a couple nights and one of the nights, the folks staying in the room in front of ours were banging on the doors until 2 in the morning and they trashed the hallway. There was also a few instances where people who didn’t have key cards were waiting outside the perimeter doors and they ended up walking in with us and started going door to door, seemingly trying to find where their room was? There was no security monitoring so it just didn’t seem the safest. I contacted the manager to provide feedback on a few things like being charged a different fee than what I had initially agreed to. The manager was defensive and I just didn’t feel like she had any empathy to my concerns. She said that noise and the mess was out of their control and that their pricing is listed on their website. Overall, the breakfast was good, the hotel room itself was clean, but due to my other concerns I will not be returning.

Loved everything about the room but the bathroom area. Absolutely hated the bathroom set up. The doors of the closet and bathroom open into the same area right in front of the sink..so you couldnt have multiple people in that area. Water got everywhere when you showered. Not enough ventilation in the bathroom and over time I think will become an issue. Wall paper was peeling at the bottom, I believe was caused by the excessive moisture in the bathroom. The side door leading in the building wasnt working, our phone in the room wasnt working and the ice machine. I requested not to have our phone fixed until after our stay. I did requested to have the ice machine and door looked at. The items remained broken during the time of our stay. We only stayed 2 nights..so a very short stay. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the very helpful staff at the hotel.
